THE LORE

NITO

Nito is an interesting setting because it in itself is not a full world.

Known as the Nito region, it is actually a pocket dimension connected to the Pathfinder setting of Galarian. It is said Giants, Dragons and other elder beings were the first to inhabit this dimension. Few remember when Elves, Dwarves, Humans and the like first arrived.

There is a secret to this dimension, a purpose for it’s existence. Only the gods know of it. I pray we never discover it.

The Nito region consists of Four major continents.

  • CERUS - The North Western Continent is a land ravaged by war. Home of two countries, Rynasia and Cerlyia. Formerly ruled by opposing human kingdoms until the events of the Decade War where both were betrayed by the peace advisor Lord Beaumont.

The Northern country of Cerlyia remains in ruin, it’s people isolated and leaderless. The northern pinnacle of the continent Leviathan’s Grasp now an icy wasteland roamed by undead, ruled only by the Winter Wyrmm.
Rynasia won the war and prospered for a time, however their prosperity quickly turning into desperation. Dragons, Pirates, and all matter of beastly beings marched under the banner of the crow. Rynasia held out against Beaumont’s forces for as long as they could until a band of heroes finally sealed him away. The royal family Rynasus was turned on by its citizens soon after the external threat was dealt with.

long before the war and up until the fall of the Rynasus family in Cerus. Both kingdoms had decided Cerus belonged to the humans. They deported, or if more convenient executed, non-human species elsewhere.

Now Rynasia is ruled by the Unified Imperial Alliance (UIA) a militaristic leadership seeking to bring back stability and control to their country. Many of the UIA’s actions are questionable, however they did end the deportation of non-humans, allowing many non-humans to join their ranks.

  • LYSIRRA - To the North East, A land of harsh environments. From deadly swamps, to frigid peaks only those adept at handling themselves in the wild live here. The largest civilizations here belong to the dwarves and the elves, however you will find smaller settlements of Grippli, Lizardfolk, Tengu, Ratfolk, and many more. Unfortunately territory is a premium here, many were sent here from Cerus, purged from their homes and sent to a land they’ve never stepped foot in before. There are many settlements that host a menagerie of beings sent here from Cerus. However the Lysirran natives are not always welcoming, even to their kin from across the sea.

  • COARCHA - To the South East, Humid and hot primarily is Coarcha. Dense jungles and tropical forests litter the central part of this continent. All civilization exists around the coastline. Towns here are primarily formed by deportees from Cerus, deserters from Cerus that fled here during the war, and pirates that used this land as a safe haven from the law long before other civilizations came here. South Shore being one of the larger cities in Coarcha completely established and run by those who live outside the law. In the north you’ll find more fishing towns, and hardworking folks just trying to live a peaceful life. The native Lizardfolk tribes all identify by the color of their scales, and it’s rare to see a town or settlement with two different scaled tribes. Industrialization comes for us all. An iron mining town called Sparrow’s edge somehow became a resort town for Rynasian Nobles to vacation. Gold was discovered in the Scale Ridge Mountains, which lead to the development of the rail way, that connects the Southern end to the Northern by traveling around the Western coastal towns of Coarcha.

  • LURILIS - To the South West, a land of mystery and danger. Many sailors won’t get anywhere close to the coast of this place. Fool hardy adventurers and scholars have traveled there, few have returned. To this day no one has been able to travel and map out Lurilis. Ancient empty halls of forgotten Giant civilizations. landscapes torn, twisted, and reshaped by arcane energy. rib cages of unmelting ice protrude from the desert, Black stone crackles with lightning in the Canyon of Anguish. Lands where Days are Dark and Nights are blinding bright. Rain turns into fish, Trees shift from wood, to flesh, to diamond. Nothing is stable, nothing is consistent.

  • SPELLSTORM ISLAND - An unassuming isle far off the North Eastern Coast of Cerus. With a single tall black spire. Legends told of bridges of light that once connected the island to Cerus and Lysirra, however if those bridges truly exist they have not been ignited in some time. Inside the tower of Spell Storm Island is the greatest singular place for arcane knowledge and practice. New spells are discovered, developed, perfected. Doors to other dimensions are around every corner. Masters of the arcane craft, teachers, geniuses, prodigies. All of them here, always here. Never leaving in fact. After the experiences, the worlds, the knowledge, the power one can tap into in the tower; the mortal world seems so dull. The Arch Mages have seen the very worst that magic can do, they harbor all magic users in this place, to teach and guide them. Whether they want to or not. some run, some hide for years. Typically this means the Arch Mages don’t find you worth their time to collect. Their true purpose for gathering so many arcane wielders here is unknown but they are not shy about one thing, the arcane belongs to them.

  • T‍ROPSIUS - An anomaly off the North Western coast of Cerus, beyond the ice shelf is a large volcanic island. It’s only in recent years that anyone can remember ever seeing this island. How long has it been there? The island is inhabited by bird like reptilian creatures once thought to be extinct. A wizard or a god just having fun?
